~Lepidopteras~

"Unknown"
Sarolta Ban.

Up and down
and up again, and down,
as the clock swings around
counting seconds and minutes aloud,
counting hours in a sweep
and days in a leap,
as years pass by
the Lepidopteras swing
on a see-saw made in heaven,
with earth in between
and time passing into oblivion!

  1. I love the link between time and butterflies -- there is an endless feeling to watching they maneuver through the garden. Great poem!

  2. Time does pass into oblivion, I like that notion, we recall the past but the exact moments are gone, I love that you have given me that idea to contemplate. Time may live on, and the past is old time, but ours is finite.

  8. I have to agree with jo-hanna on the coffee! I like to think that butterflies randomness in flight is a defence mechanism. Great rhyme!

  11. I loved the idea that moths and butterflies keep time. I may borrow this.

  12. There is a deep meaning or idea if you can call it, going up and down with your Lepidopteras. A mere 'Butterfly' would just not have made the message clear nor perfect. Good job. In fact this is too good!
