~Two Knot Six~

"Unknown"
Human skeleton consists of 206 bones!

Covered in smooth epidermis,
Within we are all alike,
Two knot six blended in muscles,
Similar in differences, in spite!

Imagine if we had not skin,
Would you know the white from black?
Would you know from one to another?
Would you know the Chinese from Czech?

I wonder how it came to be,
When within we have the same white bones,
Within we are the same human beings,
Muscles, blood, veins and skeleton!

Standing tall or bending low,
Hunched over in old age or not,
Posture building a character,
Two knot six is alike for all!!

  1. Indeed -- some things are much the same when we'll get below the skin..

  2. Yes, wonderful ponderings. We are all so much more alike than we are different. Loved your poem.

  4. If only we could focus on the frame, on what keeps us together, on the hardness of the bone... instead of that which dresses it up. I, too, wonder... How would things be, if we just didn't know about skin?

  5. Nicely done, the repetition of 206 and all. Provokes thought. It will be hard to look into crowds henceforth without envisioning skeletons in motion.

  6. Sounds sooo right, Arushi. It is composed so nicely too, and sort of an irregular rhyme.

I do have a few less than 406. My right knee joint has been exchanged and transplanted with an artificial knee. I would add 001 titanium, a whole bunch of joint material, part plastic, part stainless steel. Then I would add for the four stents and one stent graft. Not quite bionic yet but going on it. :)
