My second chance at life,
I'd redeem my mistakes but make new ones,
That's something I can't deny!
I'd live in a perfect world,
Where I could dance like Zakharova,
Twirl around in a pretty lace,
On my toes, in air and over!
I'd learn kung fu like Jackie Chan,
Yet never loose my cool,
I'd dive and duck, flailing hands,
Needing no random tool!
I'd skate on frozen, hardened ice,
Like Beautiful Elsa of Arendelle,
Never slip, or stumble twice,
Swirling around, princess like grace!
I'm quite happy with my present me,
Except for these unusual fantasies,
That take me to another world,
Wanting another chance to be!!

I like another chance to be....I like your piece.

DeleteI wonder if "Another Me" is somewhere wanting to get a "second chance at life," just to make the mistakes the first Me made, and think they are glorious... This is circle twirling around rings of wonder, and I love it.
ReplyDeletethankyou Magaly... Another me is another chance at life with few added bonus i think!! :)
DeleteThe eternal feminine twirls in tulle over the ice--a little of it in all of us girl-people, surely. Love the first stanza--yes, freed from these mistakes, we are bound to make others--interesting to see where they might lead.
ReplyDeleteyes... well we can only wish they lead us to a path we like!! thank you !!
DeleteOh yes, my other me would surely pal with your other you too!
ReplyDeletehaha karen... that might be too!!
DeleteLoving this. Film and books and poems take care of these fantasies for me, while I go on with my current mistakes, familiar to me.
ReplyDeleteyah for me too... although i wish it dint have to be so !!
Delete"another chance to be"......the cool thing is, you are so young you still have a kazillion possibilities ahead of you. I enjoyed this poem!
ReplyDeleteI do/... planning to make the best of it ,... thank you sherry!!
DeleteI love your fantasies, Arushi. They were sooo much fun, I could live those too. I did get a chance to dance with Zakharova. She was small and Russian. Not really her but she could have been, she was so light on her feet and she 'followed' my every step and move without any nudges or hints that I was conscious of making. She was the dance teacher on the Queen Mary II and I was having trouble with one of the steps. I will never, never, forget her.

ReplyDeletethank you hannah!!
DeleteDreaming, I do it often...daydream that is. Perhaps those fantasies only open up the depth of who you are. Becoming is a journey we all take, this piece speaks to me of the wonder in it.
ReplyDeletethank you susie... daydreaming may not be good but sometimes it accompanies us in loneliness..
DeleteJackie Chan! I can just see you...
ReplyDeletehaha... :))
