Rest In Peace.

"Unknown"
Google Images

To rest under the heaps of earth cast by my very own,
A tear awakened the dying seed into a ponderous flower,
The weight of many a years hurled gently on my coffin,
And now I can finally rest in a wholesome heavenly bliss!

To rest under the salty waves of the beautiful blue sea,
Tossed aboard by my sweet children when I could no more be.
To be nibbled by the colourful fishes scaling across the oceans,
To wonder the deep mysterious seas and finally ride the currents...

To rest upon a pile of firewoods stacked neatly below me,
To be put alight by my very own son in tears and weary.
To rise up to the open skies like a furious dancing flame,
Finally flying free from all the burdens, fears and blames!

To finally rest in peace wherever I may be,
Tired from a long journey through unexpected realms,
To not breathe and not move, and not think anymore,
To not be scared or sad neither happy nor sore!
To just be,
FREE!

Cookie Theif

"Unknown"
Wonderland in Dubai!
"Did you steal the cookies again?"
My mother furrowed her brows,
That in itself scared me and I lied-
Shaking my head in denial,
My mouth stuffed with one too many,
And a few in my hands behind my back,
As many a soft little plump hand can carry!
My mouth littered with sprinkles
And the whiff of chocolate around,
I gulped and swallowed one aloud!
She crossed her arms standing tall,
Scary and beautiful much like my doll,
I gaped at her as she pierced me with her eyes,
Waiting for me to give away the lies...
I think she got tired and took me to bed,
Where I ate the rest of cookies till I slept!

Broken Yet Mended!

Google Images.

I sat at the end of the hall,
My seat rising a little above all,
And it all started with the tap of my feet,
The involuntary ripple in my fingers,
As they play along the music on my knees,
And my shoes clicked on the timber!

And I closed my eyes as the acoustics rose,
And echoed across the hall,
Crisscrossing in many a random forms,
Departing the stage from wall to wall!
And images of unfathomed depths,
Arose in my puzzling mind,
Rising from forgotten past,
Of what was long left behind!
Or created from imagined future,
Beautiful, benign, rich and lustrous,
Deceiving the reality,
Raising hopeless hope within me!
And lost I was in the depths of mind,
Furtively changing yet sublime,
Watching her live, feeling her death,
Laughing her joys, sorrows bereft!
Dancing to her songs, her wishes on my eyes,
Wondering along, lost in her denies,
Trusting her grasp, sensing her closeness,
Sharing her tears in the ultimate oneness.
As the music rose happy and joyful,
My eyes were wet an sorrowful...

The music stopped, the echoes ended,
The lights turned on and I was mended!

~Of Poseidon~

"Unknown"
Goa.
Adorned in a peaceful breeze,
Brimming with wishful sighs,
Reaching out ever so close,
And yet speeding farther away,
Carrying along the empty bottle,
With a wishful note inside,
Of someone's love and life,
Of a sailor's beautiful wife!
And the waves rise and fall,
With heartfelt song of the wind,
And the sea gull skims the water,
With hopes on her wings!

And the rise in anger and wrath,
Above the bewildered mortals,
Praying to escape the scorn,
Of Poseidon's furious assault!

Entropy...

"Unknown"
Google Images.
In a realm of denied truth,
Whizzing past the unreal,
All else failed in it's benign wake,
Nature has made a deal,
To slowly disintegrate,
And fall into nothingness,
To mutilate and fall apart,
In chaotic dizziness,
Whirling in slow motions,
Crisscrossing the random paths,
Unknown and secretively,
Helpless in chaos!

Slowly rising it may seem,
But only to fall,
For what started with evolution,
Must end after all!

Whizzing past the unreal,
All else has failed,
In the realm of denied truth,
Nature has bailed!

Couldn't find the painter name! Tried Google :(

In the valley of sounds lies a music undefined,
Crude and momentous, in rhythms unrefined,
Of lyrics unspoken and never yet heard,
Vibrating in silence, the chords severed,
Flaming with passion to rise and swell,
And dying altogether in the endless well,
Floating on wings of beautiful beasts,
And loosing control overwhelmed by the breeze,
And spiralling down ever so uncontrollably,
Fearing the abyss of discordant infinity,
And trying to reach out to the composer's soul,
Hoping hopelessly to be renewed and whole!

World In My Stilettos...

"Unknown"

Tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock,
It's not the seconds of the slaving clock,
It's my Jimmy Choo heels meeting the floor,
As I walk in the office through the glass door...
The world abuzz with paper and others,
Haggling about a project or losses or covers,
A fight here, a scoff there, the boss' loud voice upstairs,
Scolding little Mr. Badger for too much delay,
Or the secretary for the sugarless coffee that day,
The coffee machine buzzing busily in the corner,
The clink of tea cups and the rustle of stinky papers,
And All That seems to pause for a moment-
As my Jimmy Choo lands with a "tock" in the hallway!
They all look up to watch as I swagger past,
And some nod their heads or smile with eyes cast,
And I sign a few papers and make a new deal,
Of millions of dollars in a moment's ease,
And wonder if the world could be
In the point of my Jimmy Choo heels!

Pink Hairbands!

"Unknown"
School friends...
Paper planes and chocolate under the desk,
The darling teacher ranting about some test,
And Swoosh! it lands right where it's aimed,
My best friend is now in trouble and blamed!
But she won't be taking the pinch alone,
My darling teacher will find my secret note,
And dismiss me in rage from the class as well,
And we'll stand outside till they ring the bell!
But Oh! what fun to share the secret,
On a paper plane whizzing past the teacher,
In a secret language, an unchallenging code,
Made to irk the teacher or to feel old...
We giggled behind our little plump hands,
Standing outside in our skirts and pink hairbands,
No care for looks or wannabe dresses,
No care for makeup or frizzy, untamed tresses!
And our darling teacher spots us again,
In the corridor together having undeserved fun,
She scolds us till our faces turn red,
Then gives us the chocolate under the desk!
Lunchbox and notebooks and even handkerchiefs,
Shared in love, anger, innocence and mischief,
And smiling across the room at each other,
A wink to understand the plans made later!

And best of all was running back home,
In the warm embrace of my very own dear mom,
And telling the tale of teachers, tests and friends,
Complaining about the homework and pink hairbands!

~Apology~

"Unknown"
Papa Bear after a bath!

And here is an apology for what may have been,
For what rests unknown, dark and unseen.
It was a mistake, I assure you of my honest intentions,
I did not mean to hurt your feelings, or damage your emotions!
My heart did weep along with you,
But you could not look in my tear filled eyes, No!
Too filled with sorrow and engrossed in yourself,
You failed to notice how I loathed myself,
To bring to you what never should have been,
If only I was ignored by your kind being!
Please find in your dear heart to once again forgive,
How undoubtedly foolish and insensitive I behave,
For if it were not for your love and care,
I’d truly be lost in this world so unfair!

I Wait...

"Unknown"
Starry Night by Alex Ruiz.

I wished upon a trailing star,
Bright and brilliant in the dark blue sky,
To hold me close in your arms,
When I lingered alone so far away!
And the shooting star whizzed past the brightly lit sky...

I gazed up on the arched moon,
Longing for a glimpse of you,
To see your face shining, lit by a smile,
When I stood under the sky so blue!
And the arched moon glowed ever so more...

I whispered into the silent winds,
Hoping to hear a song from your lips,
That part sometimes to kiss me softly,
My cheeks blush and my stomach flips!
And the whispering wind rustles soothingly past...

I wonder if you can hear me,
While I longingly wait for thee...

Reading In Time!

"Unknown"
Taken in Lampur!

She
reads
about butterflies,
up and down
as they go far beyond,
across another realm of hearty imaginations and defies
all natural laws of Lepidopteras in faraway heavens-
and she reads as time
ticktocks, slowly unnoticed,
holding on
to
Hope!

~Song~

"Unknown"
Riva Del Garda
I flew past
the open havens, whispering waters,
gasping for breath
in gorgeous greens-
The wind unfurled the unknown song lost
in the cacophony!

The
idle dwellers
failed to notice
the astounding beauty of
Me!

I added a lantern poem at the end just for a bit of twist :)

~Lepidopteras~

Sarolta Ban.

Up and down
and up again, and down,
as the clock swings around
counting seconds and minutes aloud,
counting hours in a sweep
and days in a leap,
as years pass by
the Lepidopteras swing
on a see-saw made in heaven,
with earth in between
and time passing into oblivion!

Homecoming...

"Unknown"
The River Ganga!

My muffled footsteps move fast,
Faster than they were slow when leaving
my front door behind
for a long long time,
But all that is in the past...
I forget the squeamish feeling in my heart,
The tears brimming in my eyes,
the lump in my throat,
All that is long past...
For now I am back home,
The same old poppies grow in my garden,
The same old wind chimes welcome me back,
The same old jute rug at the doorstep,
for I am back home at last...
My mind blurs with memories of a phone call,
the call to report back thus,
Eradicating a smile on my face,
Mercenaries of joy and happiness,
And all of that whirred within so fast...
A tear again in my eyes
as they see the open doors,
My mother rushing out for me,
To engulf me in her warm arms...
But these are tears of happiness,
These are tears of joy,
For all those days away from home,
Are in distant shadows cast!

Wingadium Leviosa!

"Unknown"
Sarolta Bán

I swirled upon a cardboard box my Phoenix feathered wand,
I flipped and swished it through the air and turned it all around,
And murmuring a bit in mumbled voice I tried to cast a spell,
"Wingadium Leviosa, Wingadium Leviosa", I repeated like a knell...
But to no avail my cardboard box lay quite flightless in front of me,
Frustrated and quite angry I slammed it with my feet!
And out popped two sturdy wings gasping for fresh air,
Pearly white and light yet strong flapping strenuously with a flair!
My cardboard box rose a little and for a moment I believed
That magic I could do from my Amazon bought wand, so cheap!
And then the beautiful white swan released from the box,
And rose up in the air disturbing the stillness with her winged chaos...
The dust from my attic floor rose up in her wake,
And twisted up and curved, like a cyclone in a lake.
I stared aghast at the royal thing as she frantically searched around,
Looking for a door, a window or any escape route!
I sprung out of my bewilderment with a dust filled cough and sneeze,
And quickly went and opened up the window and let in some breeze...
The beauty saw the endless skies and heedlessly swished past,
Flapping hard and furiously to meet the open skies at last!
I watched it fly away for while dreamily from my window,
Then packed my wand and went back to the real world below!

~Amusing~

"Unknown"
Keith Haring: The Marriage of Heaven and Hell!

Barely aged and hardly old
An artist died so young.
31 years and childish yet
taken from the world!
Of graffiti and amusing art,
A smile on a child's face,
Battling brave the hellish disease,
Activist in the face of AIDS!
His marriage of Heaven and Hell,
Made me halt for a while,
I stared at it unbelievably
and my face lit up in a smile!

And I wondered how it went for him,
To paint something so amusing!

Ancient Forest!

"Unknown"
Mom lost in an ancient Forest!

Ceremoniously large and serene,
The ancient pine trees,
Of the enchanted forests,
Some say they can speak...
If you press your ear to the white silken bark,
And relieve yourself from cynics of the heart,
And think of nothing that has yet past,
You shall hear a heartbeat!
Deep and rhythmic yet alive,
In the ancient forest they thrive,
With a million mysteries whispering
Among the leaves as the wind passes by!
You can hear a song, a groan,
A steady hum that rises alone,
Above the ancient forest divine,
Protecting all that live within,
Passionately and possessively,
And breathing a mysterious symphony!
The music resonates in every bone,
In every heart and so many tones,
And inside of you it will bring peace,
If only you would be at ease!

Colours filtering lights,
Glass orbs hanging amidst mystery,
A toy shop-
Enticing, enchanting, enthralling,
Deception of the magic that lay inside,
Eager for innocent, beguiled visiters!

Disheartened!

"Unknown"
A painting by John Godward!

Whirling in a storm of self created bonds,
Expectations floating past like a fragment of cloud,
Hoping against hope that it would be clear,
Today so close, so near, so dear...

Filled with surprise of reluctant pleasure,
Heartily disheartened and writhing in treasure,
Loving him for it was easy to love,
Than to hate such ghastly, soulless monster!

Unable to quench the thirst for riches,
Unable to leave him despite the glitches,
Unable to conquer the lust of his intimacy,
Unable to love his tyranny and treachery!

She whimsically thought of coiled rope,
And smiled as she wrapped her neck in a loop!

~Two Knot Six~

"Unknown"
Human skeleton consists of 206 bones!

Covered in smooth epidermis,
Within we are all alike,
Two knot six blended in muscles,
Similar in differences, in spite!

Imagine if we had not skin,
Would you know the white from black?
Would you know from one to another?
Would you know the Chinese from Czech?

I wonder how it came to be,
When within we have the same white bones,
Within we are the same human beings,
Muscles, blood, veins and skeleton!

Standing tall or bending low,
Hunched over in old age or not,
Posture building a character,
Two knot six is alike for all!!
