~Wings~

Dreaming in a world afar,
Of wings broad and wide,
Lifting me to the heavens...

Keith Haring: The Marriage of Heaven and Hell!

Barely aged and hardly old
An artist died so young.
31 years and childish yet
taken from the world!
Of graffiti and amusing art,
A smile on a child's face,
Battling brave the hellish disease,
Activist in the face of AIDS!
His marriage of Heaven and Hell,
Made me halt for a while,
I stared at it unbelievably
and my face lit up in a smile!

And I wondered how it went for him,
To paint something so amusing!

Clicked in the open skies of my hometown back in India!

Flightless Eagle! I met him in a dessert safari in Dubai.
The owner took him around for pictures among the tourists!
I felt really bad when I later glanced at this picture for the poor
thing!  Maybe I shouldn't have aided the owner with this picture!!
:(
I wish to soar in the boundless skies,
And touch the light blue heavens,
The joy of spreading my dynamic wings,
To whizz past daunting Havens!

To hear the rustle of the whispering wind,
In my delicate greying feathers,
To stretch my hollow marrowless bones,
And feel the infinite pleasure!

To be freed from these chains and shackles
Bound to an old man's hand,
To stretch my rusty wings and fly,
Over deserts, seas and land!

Away from these wretched humans,
Who make me flightless for money,
Away from their thoughtless breed,
Away from Earth, utterly free~

Tip toe on my bare feet
I walked down the stairs,
hoping the floorboard wouldn't creak,
As I sneak to reach the chocolate eclairs;
kept atop the highest shelf,
intentionally away from my little reach ,
I climb on a wooden chair,
Strain my ankles, stretch my arms,
to reach the tempting treat!
And running amok helter-skelter,
As it comes pelting down,
Licking my chocolate rich fingers,
As mom puts the lights on-
A smile hidden in her angry frown!

Running wild in the garden,
Playing with a choo choo train,
Bare feet in my dirty frock,
And dancing in the rain!
Little mommy came shouting out,
Pulling her hair in loving frustration,
warning me from catching a fever.
I sneezed and sped bringing her out as well,
She was soaked soon as the rain continued to swell.
We both caught the darling cold,
And our noses turned clownishly red,
But she was the one who fed me soup,
As I cosily slept!

Climbing on the guava trees,
bare feet as they became ripe and red,
Munching on some perched atop,
While tossing some on mama's head,
She furrowed her brows and looked up at me,
I smiled and sent her more,
She was soon eating a guava too,
The delicious pearly fruit!
And then the owner sighted us
And I dropped down on her shoulders,
We ran giggling like the wind,
to escape his angry clamour.
Later I know she got busted
And gave back some of the squander,
Yet came back giggling secretively,
Having enjoyed our little adventure!
